Given the current economic turmoil in the country, the ongoing political instability and skyrocketing inflation, the leading auto-maker Toyota has reported a tremendous down-turn in their monthly sales per unit since 2020.
A report from Autojournal.pk, the leading auto supplier, managed to sell only 1,803 cars last month, the lowest sales/month ever since 2022, compared to covid19 era and all the challenges, the company back then selling around 547 cars.
The last time, it was Suzuki Alto reporting a dramatic fall in their monthly sales since January 2023, and now Toyota is falling way behind their monthly sales target for the month. The report articulates that the sales decline is basically because of the SBP( State Bank of Pakistan) reluctance to approve LCs( letter of credit), the news imposed restrictions on imports, and the immense scarcity of completely Knocked down (CKD) kits in the country.
In addition, if we look at the current economic crisis and political instability looming over the country, many leading auto-maker are witnessing their sales down-turn, making it an alarming situation for auto companies and investors.
